Songbirds: Year 1 - Year 3

What colour does a trumpet play? How do you paint the mood of a swan? These are some of the questions we tried to answer as we listened to The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns. To begin with, we made big collaborative paintings, moving our brushes to make marks that fit with the mood of each animal’s music. Then we created our own musical animals and painted them using the marks and textures from our collaborative paintings.
