The Why

“Make things that make you happy!”

It’s been a few years since my first pack of Crayolas but some things don’t change: Art is still my favourite lesson! Watching children create is really special. Their joyful, instinctive approach reminds me of a tutor’s advice back when I was an art student: “Make things that make you happy!” In my experience, being led by the making process (happy making) gives rise to the most exciting artwork. It’s my hope that The Little Makery will give young artists the skills and perspectives to confidently explore their ideas and that making will always be their happy place.
